Old Business
Joe Kunkel and Ben Van Haaften are taking over the website and also going to continue to keep it up to date with events and changes needed. They will also be adding a section to the website where the minutes from the meeting can be viewed.

There was some talk of having the Christmas party, which is set for the 14th of January 2012

Ben made a motion for election of the same officers as last year. Seconded by James Lockwood, and the motion carried.

New Business

-We had a near miss on the flying field the other day. An airplane lost control over the pit area and crashed. They believe that the plane lost radio contact on take-off under full power and crashed behind the flight line. NO ONE WAS HURT! What a blessing! The only thing hurt was the plane! As a reminder for the pilots and visitors - ALWAYS be watchful and careful. There has been talk of installing a warning sign just to remind everyone that things can and do happen.

-There was a lot of talk about Spad Fest that we will be hosting this year. James Lockwood talked to Hy Vee and Rick Valentine about catering. He has talked to both about a breakfast, lunch, and dinner for Friday and Saturday with a Ribeye steak supper for Saturday night. With talking with Rick about catering the meals, Jim felt he would be a better choice with a buffet breakfast in the morning, cold cut sandwiches made to order for lunch, and a nice meal set for the evenings.

-Prices have been set for the weekend of spad fest at $60. This will include food for both days and also a landing fee for covering other expenses of the event. Joe has set up a paypal account on the website for paying dues for this event.

-There is still a lot to discuss before spad fest but we will discuss that more in the next couple monthly meetings.

Everyone please read and follow the flight line rules posted in the clubhouse. Our membership runs from January 1 to December 31. Guests must have proof of insurance.

Our club insurance is site insurance only; it does not cover accidents between members. Our club liability insurance is primary coverage and will pay club claims.
